About Us

praiseTime was funded in July 2010 by Pablo Aguilar and Henry Welch with support from Raul Aguilar and seed money from the Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. As a music teacher at Scenic Hills Christian School, Pablo saw the necessity for a guitar program that was 100% based on Christian music and principles. Raul, being the Education Superintendent for the Texas Conference, made the connection to Henry, and the project started.

Pablo Aguilar

Pablo Aguilar graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Montemorelos where he completed a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and Music Education. Mr. Aguilar is a piano teacher in San Antonio Texas. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of California at San Diego. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Piano Pedagogy and Performance at UTSA. He worked for major corporations such as NCR, BEA Systems, and AOL while maintaining a private group of piano students but ultimately decided to commit full time to music teaching when he relocated to San Antonio in 2005. He has over ten years of experience in music instruction to private and group students and he is an active member of the San Antonio Music Teachers Association serving currently as Senior Vice President. Mr. Aguilar led the music and computer programs at Family Educators Alliance of South Texas (FEAST), a homeshool organization, and teaches private piano at Musical Arts Center of San Antonio. He also performs regularly with the “Strings of Peace” ensemble. During the weekends he enjoys playing the piano for The Seventh-Day Adventist Church and Rolling Oaks Christian Church. He believes that all children are capable of learning music and that teaching includes a never-ending journey of discovery to find out what enables children to be successful learners.

He was the Adjunct Professor of Guitar at Southwestern Adventist University, and has taught the Keene Adventist junior High School Choir, has taught music at Burleson Adventist School and is currently the conductor of the Keene Guitar Orchestra. Mr. Welch has over eleven years experience including four years performing at A Night at the Meyerson Symphony Center of Dallas, Texas for Southwestern Adventist University, Holiday-In-The-Park concerts, seasonal musical parade floats, fundraiser concerts and other entertainment.
